DOF takes 2 similar images with different depths of field and brings them both into focus. In the example above, the two top images were combined to form the bottom image. Note that both the close tree and the trees in the back are in focus.
Source
Here you choose the source image. The image selected will be compared against the action image and they will be blended. You can choose an image already loaded with the drop-down box or load a different image with the "load source" button.
Aperture
The need for different values of aperture depend greatly on the nature of the images you wish to blend. Images with sharp changes in color such as the trees above require a small value for aperture, like 20. Images with gradual changes require a larger value for aperture, like 50 to 100. Larger apertures require considerably more time to complete.
